Don't wake me up

The second prize in the 2023 Stacja Kutno illustration contest

The task was to create an illustration for one of Jeremi Przybora's songs.
I chose "Don't wake me up". The song was performed by Kalina Jędrusik,
as a part of Kabaret Starszych Panów show. I'll translate it for you:

Don't wake me up
My dreams are so interesting
My dream is more beautiful
Than your reality
Couse here, on this side of lashes
Marvelous senselessness makes
Sens of my matters
So with your reality
Please don't wake me up

I walk by the flower meadow
I have great legs
My legs grow into a meadow
I'm a spider now
With a butterfly
Light as a touch
But butterfly doesn't last long
Now he's a man
With bearded Freud's face
With celluloid cuffs
This Freud, he loves me
It feels so good
That I keep making new ones
Error activities

Don't, don't, dont't
Don't wake me up

The Ballad of Lorelei

In a playful and full of retro-charm way tells the bloody, dark story of a siren from the Rhine river.

Mullein, rose, gentian

I chose this song because it felt incredibly disturbing to me.

In a quite innocent manner presents an awfully misogynistic idea,
that women have nothing better to do, than seduce poor men.
And one of those temptresses, for the lyrical subject, was...a 12-year-old girl.

I depicted this point of view. He called those women by flower names,
so I painted this bouquet of dangerously hypnotizing horny blooms.

Dangerous, alluring and…unreal.

thank you!
